To become a driving instructor in the UK, you need to
Apply to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and register as a potential driving instructor (PDI)
Find a specialised trainer to help you prepare for the three qualifying exams
Take the theory test (ADI part 1) and the driving ability test (ADI part 2)
Choose your pathway: trainee licence or practice test
Take the instructional ability test (ADI part 3) and get your ADI badge
